Local owners bring Sears home

Mother Lode Internet, the first Internet provider in Tuolumne County, is still a family-owned-and-operated business that plans to keep its focus on the Mother Lode.
Although Dennis and Brenda Dahlin have incorporated the business, they remain the only stockholders.

Bob and Doris Mahan of Sears will offer special prices on what they exhibit at the Home and Garden Show.

They own the Sears dealer retail store in Mono Village, specializing in appliances, lawn and garden equipment, electronics and tools.

The Mahans are grateful for the success of their business.

"We have done exceedingly well since opening the Sonora store in October 1993," said Bob. "Our big advantage is that on the items we sell, we have access to everything the big Sears stores carry.

"We have the same prices and the same sales at the same times, so if you are looking for a refrigerator that we don't have in the store, I will get it from the Sears warehouse for you at no extra cost."

Before opening their new store, Bob worked for the Sears catalog store that was previously at the same location for four years. Doris has more than 25 years experience with Sears.

At the Home and Garden Show, they will display weed trimmers, tillers, chippers, tractors and lawn mowers.

They will have a demonstration area set up so people can start and use the machines.
