Prudential Lupo has new name
Mother Lode Internet, the first Internet provider in Tuolumne County, is still a family-owned-and-operated business that plans to keep its focus on the Mother Lode.
Although Dennis and Brenda Dahlin have incorporated the business, they remain the only stockholders.
An historic building which once housed the first gas station in Twain Harte is now home to Prudential California Realty, formerly Prudential Lupo Properties.
The building, located near the arch in Twain Harte, has undergone some renovations under the direction of owner Jim Lupo, but still retains an old-fashioned charm, providing a pleasant work place for Jim and his staff.
The new name came after Jim joined a network of real estate offices throughout Northern California, to gain stronger support and better name recognition.
"We have 100 offices in Northern California," Jim said. "Our goal is to make the real estate transaction as easy as possible for the consumer and to provide quality service."
But, he added, "We are still independently owned and operated."
Jim, who moved to Tuolumne County in 1973, has been in real estate for nearly 18 years and opened his own office about 14 years ago. He provides a variety of real estate services including commercial, residential and property management throughout Tuolumne County.
He has seven agents on staff.
At the Home and Garden Show, Prudential California Realty will display several current listings and answer questions. They will hold prize drawings throughout the weekend for four Learn-to-Ski packages at Dodge Ridge and for gifts certificates to area stores and restaurants.
