Home town company can sound the alarm
Mother Lode Internet, the first Internet provider in Tuolumne County, is still a family-owned-and-operated business that plans to keep its focus on the Mother Lode.
Although Dennis and Brenda Dahlin have incorporated the business, they remain the only stockholders.

Mountain Alarm installs security and fire alarm systems for homes and businesses throughout Tuolumne and Calaveras counties.
It is the only locally-owned alarm company in Tuolumne County.
"People like to do business locally," said owner Tom Molinari, "and they appreciate the personal service that family owned and operated Mountain Alarm is known for."
25 years plus one
Molinari has been in the alarm business since 1972, 15 years as an owner and operator. He opened Mountain Alarm in 1989.
Since the early 1970s, he has installed alarm systems for the California National Guard, the U.S. Air Force and Stanford University, and has provided alarms for everything from museums to a small nuclear reactor.
His son Tom Jr. grew up in the alarm business and has worked for the company full-time for three years.
In Tuolumne County, Mountain Alarm has built a reputation for reliability, service and experience which has enabled it to assemble an ever-growing list of clients, including homeowners, businesses and law enforcement agencies, said Molinari.
"Alarm systems have come a long way since I started in the business," He said. "They are easy to use, very reliable and more affordable, making it possible for everyone to get the protection they deserve."
About one in every six American homes now has an alarm system. The crime rate and the fact that an alarm system costs less than the average burglary or fire loss has a lot to do with it.
Mountain Alarm offers free written estimates and also has senior and contractor discounts.
In addition to alarm systems, the company installs video surveillance systems, intercoms, driveway alarms, home automation equipment, medical alert systems, central vacuum systems and home theater systems.
Molinari is a licensed C-10 electrical contractor and a state licensed alarm operator. At the Home and Garden Show, Mountain Alarm will have information about security systems along with equipment and a working display.
