Experienced hands keep things running at Mike's
The Union Democrat''s LodeLink and HomeLink Gold Internet services will be showcased at the Home and Garden Show.The newspaper's Internet services manager, Zachary Britton, and his staff will have computers to will show people how to "surf the net" using LodeLink (www.lodelink.com) and shop for their dream homes using HomeLink Gold (www.homelinkgold.com).
A free drawing will be held in the booth for one year of free Internet service.

Mike's Mowers gets a little bit bigger every year by specializing in quality products, competitive prices and knowledgeable repair service.
Owner Mike Krom is a factory-authorized dealer and a warranty repair center for everything he carries.
Mike does all the work, and his number one goal the past two years is to greatly reduce the waiting time for repairs.
"Our goal," said Mike, "is to provide experienced, professional advice and repairs in a timely manner without any come-backs because of lack of knowledge."
Krom said more schooling is involved than in the past because of the new emissions standards imposed on small gas engines.
"Laws and engine technology are changing almost daily," he said, "but education is becoming an ongoing process to ensure myself and my customers the best possible service and repair."
Krom has almost doubled his parts inventory to avoid the problem of not getting parts in a timely manner from some distributors. He has also arranged with some factories for parts to be sent by second-day air at no extra cost to the customer if they aren't available elsewhere.
"This helps us provide a quick turn-around of repairs," he said. "Our commitment is to the customer, both in professional service and in fair prices."
"It's our job to sell you a product that is right for you and the job you're doing," he said. "Whether you buy the product here or somewhere else, it is our job to keep it sold."
Among the outdoor power equipment brands sold at Mike's Mowers are Briggs & Stratton engines, Tecumseh engines, Murray Lawn Mowers, MTD outdoor power equipment, General Power, American Yard products, Noma outdoor power equipment, Echo, Jonsered Simplicity riding mowers and tractors, Generac generators and pressure washers and Makita outdoor power equipment.
In his showroom, you will find lawn mowers, weed trimmers, generators, blowers, chipper-shredders, chainsaws, complete engines, rototillers and Oregon products for chainsaws.
Mike's wife Pam is the firm's bookkeeper. They have two children, Daniel, 10, and Catherine, 8.
