Sonora woman offers money saving heating system
Steve Souders of Sonora will demonstrate the Host Dry Chemical Carpet Cleaning Process at the Home and Garden Show.
He will also have a display of 1998 Patriot High Performance Cleaning Machines and lots of information.
He said the Patriot cleaning machines are a high technology replacement for modern day vacuum cleaners.
IN HER OWN HOME, Betty McMurry uses the Monitor heating system to keep her family warm.
Hole in the Wall Heating specializes in Monitor high efficiency heating systems.
Owner Betty McMurry started the business four years ago when a relative visiting for the holidays raved about a product that was becoming popular in his hometown of Alturas in Northern California.
"Everyone is getting one," she remembers him saying. "They generate a lot of heat for very little money."
Betty decided to give it a try, and the response in Tuolumne and Calaveras counties has been very satisfying.
"I just enjoy saving people money," she said.
The Monitor seems to sell itself, said Betty. Nearly all of her sales so far this year have come from neighbors, relatives and friends of people who are already heating their homes or businesses with the Monitor.
"Everyone is amazed at how inexpensive and convenient it is," she said. "We heat our 1,800-square-foot home and our water for just $360 a year. That's less than a dollar a day -- and we are keeping toasty warm at 76 degrees."
Hole in the Wall Heating sells heating systems that use kerosene, propane or natural gas, but the kerosene models are the most popular.
"We are quickly overcoming old prejudices about kerosene," she said. "Technology has solved the problems connected with kerosene heat. The Monitor has an AFUE rating of 93 percent efficiency compared with 50 to 80 percent in most other heating systems, and the small amount of exhaust from combustion is vented to the outside so there is no odor problem."
This product has been in the United States for more than 15 years, and with more than four million heaters sold, has never caused a fire.
This high-tech heating system is easily programmed to increase or decrease the temperature in your home at whatever times you choose. The Monitor can let your home cool down while you are sleeping, then warm it up again before you get out of bed in the morning.
Another advantage of the Monitor Heating System is that it doesn't dry out the air.
Betty invites people to speak with any of her customers. In fact, many of them stop by her booth at the Home and Garden Show every year without invitation and talk to people about how much money they are saving with the Monitor.
