Spas and pools are a specialty

Steve Souders of Sonora will demonstrate the Host Dry Chemical Carpet Cleaning Process at the Home and Garden Show.
He will also have a display of 1998 Patriot High Performance Cleaning Machines and lots of information.
He said the Patriot cleaning machines are a high technology replacement for modern day vacuum cleaners.

HOME SHOWS are a staple of Gordo's business.

Representatives of Gordo's Pool City in Modesto will have spas, pools and stoves on display at the Home and Garden Show.

Gordo's is a family owned and operated business since 1956. The firm has two stores in Modesto, one at Plaza Parkway and one on Yosemite Boulevard, and two stores in Stockton.

Ray Gordo founded the business in 1956, selling 30 pools that year. Recently, the company was honored as the top seller in the nation by the 600-member Charisma Spa Dealer Network.

Ray Gordo retired in 1978, but the business is still in the family. Ray's son, John Gordon, is president; John's wife, Bonny Jewell, is vice president.

Gordo's employs 40 people during the peak summer season.

In addition to spas and pools, the firm has a full line of propane-fueled, wood-burning and pellet-burning stoves.
