Father and son team in canvas

Steve Souders of Sonora will demonstrate the Host Dry Chemical Carpet Cleaning Process at the Home and Garden Show.
He will also have a display of 1998 Patriot High Performance Cleaning Machines and lots of information.
He said the Patriot cleaning machines are a high technology replacement for modern day vacuum cleaners.

A custom awning display will be featured in the booth of Dick's Canvas, Inc., a newcomer to the Home and Garden Show.

Dick's Canvas, which has operated out of Groveland for the past two years, is a corporation run by a father and son team, Hal and Dick Pennock.

They handle sales and installation of custom awnings for decks or patios, commercial or residential, and covers for boats and personal watercraft.

Hal was an architect and general contractor for over 45 years, and Dick, who retired to Groveland from Santa Clara in 1995, had helped out at his sister's canvas business in Discovery Bay. When they decided to go into business together, canvas was the natural choice.

The custom canvas creations come in a variety of colors custom made in any size. Choices are almost unlimited because they deal with various canvas suppliers.

Hal and Dick are both involved in community activities. Dick is the current president of the Highway 120 Chamber of Commerce and Hal has been involved with the planning of the Groveland Museum/Library building.
